QR Codes for Teachers and the Classroom
Typing a long link from the board wastes the first five minutes of the lesson. A QR code on a worksheet, a poster or a slide takes every student to the right video, document or quiz at once.
The generator on this page is free, needs no account and the codes never expire — enough for most classroom use. If you reuse the same printed materials every year, a dynamic code lets you update the link without reprinting.

Why It Works
Free, no sign-up
Make codes for links, text and Wi-Fi right on this page. No account, no watermark, no expiry date.
Reuse materials every year
With a dynamic code, a worksheet printed last year can point to this year’s video or document. Change the link, keep the paper.
Host your handouts
Upload a PDF — a reading list, a revision sheet — and the code opens it directly on students’ phones, with no shared-drive permissions to sort out.
Self-paced stations
Put a different code at each station or on each question card, so students move through the activity at their own pace.
How to Set It Up
- 1
Copy the link of the video, document, quiz or page you want to share.
- 2
Paste it in the free generator above and pick a colour that prints well on your copier.
- 3
Download the code and add it to the worksheet, slide or poster.
- 4
For materials you reuse, start a free trial and create a dynamic code instead, so you can change the link later.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are the QR codes really free for teachers?
Yes. Static codes made with the generator on this page are free, need no account and never expire. Paid plans are only for dynamic codes, scan statistics and file hosting.
Do students need an app?
No. The camera app on modern iPhone and Android phones reads QR codes directly. On school tablets or laptops with a camera, any free QR reader works.
Will a code still work if it is photocopied?
Usually yes. Use dark colours on a white background, avoid shrinking it below about 2 × 2 cm, and test one copy with a phone before printing the whole class set.
Can I link to a Google Drive file?
Yes, as long as the sharing setting is “Anyone with the link”. Otherwise students will be asked to request access. Uploading the PDF to a dynamic code avoids that problem.
