Refund Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for Smart QR Code subscriptions. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions.

1. Try before you pay

Every new account gets a 14-day free trial with full access. No payment details are required to start it, and it never converts into a paid subscription on its own — you are charged only if you actively choose a plan. The trial is the intended way to evaluate the Service before spending anything.

2. Who processes your payment and your refund

Our order process and payments are handled by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Paddle is the seller on the invoice, collects the payment, and is the party that issues any refund. We instruct Paddle; Paddle returns the money to your original payment method.

Refunds are normally returned within 5 to 10 business days of approval, depending on your bank or card issuer.

3. Cancelling a subscription

You can cancel at any time, with no cancellation fee and no notice period:

  • from Manage subscription in your account profile, or
  • by emailing [email protected], or
  • through the link in any Paddle receipt you received by email.

Cancelling stops future renewals. Your plan stays active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for — you are not cut off on the day you cancel. We do not refund the unused remainder of a period that has already started, except as set out in section 4 or where the law requires it.

4. Refunds

4.1 Money-back period on your first payment

If you are not satisfied, you may request a full refund of your first subscription payment within 14 days of that payment. No justification is required. Write to [email protected] from the email address on the account.

4.2 Renewals

Renewal payments are not routinely refunded, because you receive a reminder and can cancel at any point during the preceding period. If a renewal took you by surprise and you have not meaningfully used the Service in that period, contact us — we would rather resolve it than have you file a chargeback.

4.3 When we will always refund

  • A duplicate or incorrect charge.
  • A charge after you had already cancelled.
  • A sustained failure of the Service that we could not fix within a reasonable time, for the affected period.

4.4 When we will not refund

  • Accounts suspended or terminated for a serious breach of section 7 of the Terms, such as using QR codes for phishing, malware or fraud.
  • Periods already elapsed and used, beyond the window in section 4.1.
  • Dissatisfaction with a feature that is accurately described on our pricing page and was available during the free trial.

5. Your statutory rights

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract. For digital services that begin immediately, that right can be lost once performance has started with your agreement — Paddle will inform you of this at checkout.

Nothing in this policy removes or limits any right you have under mandatory consumer law, and the money-back period in section 4.1 is offered in addition to those rights, not instead of them. Because Paddle is the seller of record, you may also exercise consumer rights directly against Paddle.

6. What happens to your QR codes after a refund or cancellation

  • Static QR codes are not affected. Anything downloaded from the free generator, or exported as a static image, keeps working indefinitely — it does not depend on our servers.
  • Dynamic QR codes keep working after the paid period ends: your first three redirect directly, the others after a short Smart QR Code page. Your account becomes read-only until you subscribe again (see the Terms of Service, section 6.3).
  • Your account and its data remain stored and become usable again if you subscribe later, unless you ask us to delete the account.

7. Chargebacks

If something is wrong with a charge, please contact us first — we can usually resolve it faster than a bank dispute. Raising a chargeback without contacting us may result in the account being suspended while the dispute is investigated.

8. Contact

Billing questions, cancellations and refund requests: [email protected]. Please include the email address on the account and the date of the payment.
