Let Customers Join Your WiFi with One Scan

"What is the WiFi password?" is the most-asked question in every cafe, restaurant, waiting room, and guest house. A WiFi QR code answers it permanently: guests scan, their phone offers to connect, done. Nobody types "Sunflower2019!" ever again.

The generator below creates your WiFi code for free — it works with WPA/WPA2, WEP, and open networks, and the password never has to be spoken aloud or written on a chalkboard.

Why It Works

Zero typing, zero typos

The phone reads the network name and password from the code and connects — no misheard characters.

Staff answer it never

A framed code on the wall or table answers the question before it is asked.

Password stays private-ish

The password is in the code, not on a chalkboard in every photo of your interior posted online.

Works on every phone

iPhone (iOS 11+) and Android (10+) scan WiFi codes with the built-in camera. No app required.

How to Set It Up

  1. 1

Select the WiFi tab in the generator above.

  2. 2

Enter your network name (SSID) exactly as it appears, choose the security type, and enter the password.

  3. 3

Download the PNG and print it — wall frame, table tent, or sticker near the seating area.

  4. 4

Changed the password? Generate a new code and swap the paper — keep it in a frame so it takes seconds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a WiFi QR code work on iPhone?

Yes. Since iOS 11, the iPhone camera recognizes WiFi QR codes and shows a "Join Network" prompt. Android has supported it natively since Android 10.

Is it safe to put my WiFi password in a QR code?

The password is stored in the code in plain text, so treat the printed code like the password itself: display it for the guests it is meant for. For businesses, a separate guest network is good practice anyway.

My network has no password. Can I still make a code?

Yes — choose "Open network" as the security type. The code will connect guests without a password prompt.

The code does not scan. What is wrong?

The usual culprits: the network name was typed differently than the actual SSID, the wrong security type is selected, or the print is too small or low-contrast. Regenerate, check the SSID exactly, and print at 3×3 cm or larger.
