Put Your Business Card in a QR Code
Paper business cards have one job — getting your number into someone's phone — and they usually fail at it. The card goes in a pocket, then a drawer, then the bin, and your details were never typed in.
A vCard QR code skips the typing. Someone points their camera at it, taps once, and you are in their contacts with name, phone, email, company, and website already filled in. It works from a printed card, a phone screen, a badge, or a slide.

Why It Works
Saved, not stored in a drawer
The details land in the phone's address book straight away, which is the only place they are useful later.
No app on either side
Every modern camera reads vCard codes natively. The other person does not install anything, and neither do you.
Nothing gets mistyped
No more numbers transcribed wrong from a card, and no more spelling your email out loud at a noisy event.
Works on a screen too
Show the code from your phone and let the other person scan it. Handy when you have run out of printed cards.
How to Set It Up
- 1
Choose the vCard tab in the generator above and fill in the fields you actually want shared.
- 2
Download the PNG and put it where people meet you: business card, badge, email signature, last slide of a deck.
- 3
Print it at 2×2 cm or larger on a card — small codes with a lot of data are the usual reason a scan fails.
- 4
Changing jobs or numbers often? Point a dynamic QR code at a contact page instead, so the printed code survives the change.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a vCard QR code and a link to my website?
A vCard code contains the contact details themselves, so the phone offers to save them immediately, even with no internet. A link needs a connection and one more step on your page. If the goal is "be in their contacts", vCard wins.
Can I change my details after printing the card?
Not with a static vCard code — the details are inside the code itself, so new details mean a new code. If you expect changes, make a dynamic QR code that points to a contact page you control, and edit the page instead.
How much information should I include?
Only what you would hand over anyway: name, company, role, one phone number, one email, website. Every extra field makes the code denser and harder to scan, especially at business-card size.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, on both, straight from the camera app. The phone shows a contact preview and asks whether to save it — nothing happens without the other person agreeing.
